Our Transformative Efforts
Funded by the World Bank, the KPIS’21 was an initiative of NIC Peshawar in collaboration with the
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board, which gave KP Startups an opportunity to
pitch in front of a pool of VCs, Angel Investors, partners, ecosystem leaders and prospective cus
tomers.
The Net Zero Challenge engaged Khyber Pakhtunkhwa youth to create tech-driven solutions for climate change, blending learning, innovation, and peacebuilding. Through mentorship, funding, and support, it empowered youth to launch impactful, sustainable projects addressing local environmental issues.
The 2021 Startup Pitching League, in collaboration with SEED, ran from June to October. Winners received PKR 1 million in technical assistance to boost their startups, fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth over the five-month competition.
The ClimAct | Climate Change Hackathon, organized by NIC Peshawar with US Consulate and UNDP, took place from November 15-17, 2022. It inspired startups to develop sustainable solutions, with three winners recognized for their contributions to climate change.
The Chitral Ideathon, led by NIC Peshawar and Accelerate Prosperity, empowered aspiring entrepreneurs with workshops on market research, business strategies, and finance. It included mentorship, hands-on training, and a Demo Day, fostering entrepreneurial growth and community economic development.
The Outcubation program, in partnership with Accelerate Prosperity, provided IT service startups with essential skills in business strategy, product development, and marketing. It included mentorship, coaching, and a Virtual Demo Day, helping startups scale and attract investors.

NIC Peshawar, in collaboration with the Digital Rights Foundation, hosted a session on “Women’s Internet Safety and Empowerment,” educating female participants on online privacy, cyberbullying prevention, and reporting mechanisms for online harassment.
