Swedish Institute Alumni and NIC Peshawar initiated Plastic Free week for Environmental Sustainability.

Peshawar, September 25 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – APP – September 25, 2020) In order to achieve environmental sustainability and make the city free of plastic, the National Incubation Center Peshawar and SI Alumni Network Pakistan, in collaboration with the Swedish Institute, organized a Plastic Free Week Challenge. The aim of the challenge is to make citizens aware that we use a lot of plastic items in our daily lives and to what extent we can reject plastic items. Plastic items take 400 to 1,000 years to biodegrade, which is extremely dangerous for the environment. Government officials, civil society, students and others participated in the program. The participants, while addressing the event, said that there are many plastic bottles, utensils and other items that are used in large numbers in daily life, but if we keep cups, glasses and other items with us, we can save ourselves from plastic items.
